Your first ride with NC&TC
Everyone was new once. Turn up, say hello and ride: you can try three rides free before you decide to join.
Where and when
Saturday, Newmarket Leisure Centre.
Meet at 08:45 for a prompt 09:00 departure.
In winter some rides start later (around 10:00) to avoid icy roads. Ride details are emailed weekly, usually by Friday.
What to bring
- A safe, roadworthy bike
- A rear light, especially in winter
- Full mudguards in winter if you can
- A waterproof, for warmth and visibility
- Money for the café stop
How the ride works
- Every ride has a guide who plans the route and looks after the group
- Stay with your chosen group for the whole ride
- Most rides stop for a café break, usually at Victor Victoria in Newmarket
- Stronger riders share the work in the wind, often rewarded with cake
