What Are Multisport Events?
If you enjoy mixing things up, multisport events are a great way to challenge yourself and have fun. Here’s a quick guide to the main types:
Triathlon
The classic combination — swim, bike, run.
Distances range from:
Super Sprint: 400m swim / 10km bike / 2.5km run
Sprint: 750m / 20km / 5km
Olympic: 1.5km / 40km / 10km
Middle or Long Distance (Ironman): 1.9–3.8km / 90–180km / 21–42km
Triathlon is about pacing, transitions, and the thrill of completing all three disciplines back-to-back.
Duathlon
No swimming — just run, bike, run.
Great for anyone who prefers dry land or wants a winter alternative to triathlon.
Typical distances:
Sprint: 5km run / 20km bike / 2.5km run
Standard: 10km / 40km / 5km
Aquabike
Perfect if you love swimming and cycling but aren’t keen on running.
You’ll swim, then bike — and finish before the run leg.
A great option for injured runners or strong swimmers.
Aquathlon
This one combines swim, then run — simple, fast, and great for building confidence in open water.
Relays & Team Events
Want to share the fun? Enter as a team, with each person doing one leg. It’s a great way to get involved without taking on all three disciplines yourself.
