The clocks have gone back, the mornings are colder, and Saturday rides change a little. Here is what to expect until spring.
Later starts. Some rides start around 10:00 instead of 09:00 to avoid icy roads. Not every ride runs every week in winter, so always check the club sign-up app before you set off.
Ice means no road ride. If there is any risk of ice, including a cold night followed by a milder morning, our road rides are called off. Gravel and off-road rides can still go ahead.
Kit. Bring a rear light, full mudguards if you can, and a waterproof for warmth and visibility. Fog or mist on the forecast? A rear light is the minimum.

Phone alerts. If a road ride is cancelled for the weather, the club sign-up app can send an alert straight to your phone. On Android, turn alerts on in the app. On iPhone, add the app to your Home Screen first, then turn alerts on.
